The Champion Cilic survived in 5 sets

The champion of last year Marin Cilic was the first, who secured a place in the semifinals of the US Open 2015. This happened after the Croatian had a dramatic won with 3:2 sets over Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in different parts of 6:4, 6:4, 3:6, 6:7 (3), 6:4.

The both offered an incredible battle at "Arthur Ashe steydam" which finally has been won by the last year`s champion. Overall, Cilic showed a stable game, especially on the serve, and deservedly lifted his arms in triumph after the last point in the game. In his turns Tsonga also deserves admiration, as he managed to return to the game by sport predictions from 0:2 sets ,in this test having some physical discomfort.

In a dispute for a place in the final Cilic awaits the world number one Novak Djokovic, who later at the same day beat Feliciano Lopez.

Until the end of the meeting Tsonga failed to answer to the challenge and left the tournament.
