Mardy Fish acknowledged the merit of Grigor Dimitrov for their victory at the doubles over Jack Sock and Vasek Pospisil at the Tournament in Washington.
"In this match from winfootballtipsters.com I felt old and useless. But while I was glad to be back on the court," said the 33 years old American who will put a formal end to his career at the Open tournament of the United States.
Fish and Dimitrov won after 6:7, 7:6, 10-8 over their rivals, as they reflected two mach-points at the end of the second set.
"Dimitrov worked brilliantly! In the second set we lost the lead with a breakthrough, but we managed to find an opportunity to return it" said Fish.
At the quarterfinals in the US capital Grigor and Mardy will face the third placed Rohan Bopanna (India) and Florin Mergea (Romania), which ousted Andy Murray and his Canadian partner Daniel Nestor, with 2:6, 6:1, 10-3.
