Espanyol sent Granada to the Segunda

Another team except Cordoba seems serious is heading to the Segunda Division. This is Granada, which made a home loss of Espanyol with a 1:2 in the match between the two teams from 34 rounds of the Spanish elite.
The hosts had the hope of a compulsory victory to keep alive their chances for survival. After this result, however, their mission into practice seems doomed.
After positional play in the first part and some situations, the first goal came just before the break and was in favor of the guests from Barcelona. It was done by Sergio Garcia in the 45th minute.
Then he received a great ball into the opponent`s half, progressed and came to the penalty box, and with a strong bet and precision, left no chances to the goalkeeper.
The hosts, however, did not give up, and after the break were chasing a goal with all his strength. And it came in the 73rd minute. Then Las Bangura coped with the defender on the left flank and centered on the edge of the penalty area. Diego Meins scored with a head shot for 1:1.
But Granada`s hopes for at least a point from this match were reeling and only six minutes before the end when the Catalans scored again. Back then Paco Montanes after the second attempt, shot the guard of the hosts to realize 2:1, and to take the three points to Barcelona.
With them, Espanyol now has 45 points and straightened out the asset with the ninth Celta. Granada is on the penultimate position, with 25 points in total, just six points close to the salvation. The last team over the line is Almeria.
